This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

For most 20-something year olds, Space Jam was a large part of childhood.

Released in 1996, the Michael Jordan starring film sold a few million Nike trainers, lead to the creation of R. Kelly’s ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ and showed everyone you don't need to be big to be a superstar basketball player.

To mark it’s 20th year since release, the NBA are set to bring in ‘an exciting lineup of talent’ to read the Loony Tunes script live.

Tthe announcement via TIFF reads: “In celebration of Space Jam’s 20th anniversary and the NBA All-Star Game in Toronto on February 14, TIFF Next Wave presents a live read of this Looney Tunes/ live-action mashup with an exciting lineup of talent from the sports and entertainment worlds.

They finish the announcement with a hilarious pun: "Stay “tooned” via social media for cast announcements!”

Previously, Funny or Die put on a live reading of Space Jam featuring Seth Green, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Paul Scheer, Nick Kroll, and more

A sequel to the beloved film has been rumoured for many years, with LeBron James expected to be the film’s primary protagonist. Read The Independent's damning original review of Space Jam here.
