Daniel Alfredo Burleson, 20, was arrested last week in Iowa after he was found in a bar with a fake Hawaii ID featuring the name made famous by Rogen’s 2007 hit comedy.
“My work here is done,” wrote Rogen on Twitter.
The fake ID was inspired by the Superbad character Fogell, aka McLovin, who obtains a false identity card in order to buy alcohol for a high-school house party.
Burleson, who eventually showed police the McLovin ID after he was escorted outside the bar, reportedly purchased the joke card from Amazon.
He was charged with possession of a fictitious ID card, which is classed as a serious misdemeanour under American law.
Burleson was also charged with public intoxication, being under the legal age in a bar and possessing alcohol under the legal age of 21.
