Reservoir Dogs star Michael Madsen has recreated the film’s memorable “ear-cutting” scene as a homemade video encouraging social distancing.

Filmed on Madsen’s mobile phone, the video opens with the actor’s family sporting bloodied bandages around their ears, before the song “Stuck in the Middle with You” by Stealers Wheel starts playing.

Madsen himself then appears in the clip, wearing the black suit jacket, tie and sunglasses that his character, “Mr Blonde”, wore in Quentin Tarantino‘s hit crime film.

Wearing pyjama trousers, Madsen performs a snippet of the dance that his character does in that film, right before slicing off another character’s ear.

The video then concludes with the message: “Stay Home. Stay Safe.”

Madsen is far from the only celebrity finding creative ways to warn people about the need for social distancing.

Over the weekend, Gavin and Stacy star Ruth Jones posted a video as her character Nessa, telling fans to “stay safe, stay out of my way and protect the NHS”.

Randy Newman wrote and recorded a whole song about social distancing, which he titled “Stay Away”.
