Oscar-nominated film Promising Young Woman is finally coming to the UK one year after its original release date.
After premiering at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, Emerald Fennell’s revenge thriller was originally slated for worldwide release on 17 April 2020, but was delayed when cinemas were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It was later released in US cinemas in December 2020, and on video on demand in January 2021.
On Thursday (25 March), it was announced that Promising Young Woman will be released in the UK next month.
The film lands on Sky Cinema on Friday 16 April, where it will also be available to stream on NOW with a Sky Cinema Membership.
Promising Young Woman stars Carey Mulligan as Cassie, a survivor of trauma who uses her sexuality in a series of revenge schemes. The supporting cast includes Bo Burnham, Alison Brie, Jennifer Coolidge, Laverne Cox and Adam Brody.
The film has already taken the awards season by storm, having been nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for Fennell and Best Actress for Mulligan.
The film has also earned six Bafta nominations, and Mulligan won the Best Actress award at this year’s Critics Choice Awards.
Promising Young Woman comes to Sky and NOW on 16 April.
