From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. There’s a surprising amount of optimism about the upcoming Power Rangers reboot considering how flooded cinemas are with reboots.

Why? Mainly because Bryan Cranston - best known for playing Walter White in Breaking Bad - has been cast as Zordon, while Elizabeth Banks will play Rita Repulsa.

Speaking about the role recently, Cranston sounded particularly excited, saying: "As big and as powerful as Power Rangers could be, he has a nice touch to keep it grounded, and real. I think it’s gonna turn some heads, I really do.”

Thanks to a new trailer, we finally see Cranston’s character in all his glory, looking exactly like one of those pin art impression toys. Watch the Kanye West-backed clip above.

The film will be an origin story following five high-school students who become the mighty morphin heroes you'll remember from yesteryear; they're being played by RJ Cyler (Me and Earl and The Dying Girl), popstar Becky G as well as relative newcomers Naomi Scott, Ludi Lin and Dacre Montgomery (who will also be in season two of Netflix smash Stranger Things).

Power Rangers reaches cinemas 25 March.
