From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. The actor and writer was not involved with the second season of Killing Eve (she was showrunner for the first) and has completed work on the forthcoming James Bond script.
But fear not, as Waller-Bridge will act as co-showrunner and writer on next year’s HBO comedy series Run (starring Domhnall Gleeson and Merritt Wever).
And she’s also been working on a “very strange” new movie script.
Speaking to Deadline, she revealed that the idea for it came just as she was finishing Fleabag’s second and final season.
“I was like, ‘God, it’s been amazing, but I’m never going to have another idea.’ And then I went to sleep. I woke up and I had this idea for this movie in my head,” she said.
The script, she says, is coming fast: “I’ll be in the shower and suddenly it’ll be like, ‘I should go and write that down.’ It’s very strange, which probably means it’s going to be awful.”
Waller-Bridge will take to the London stage later this year to perform her one-woman Fleabag show for the last time.
