While British icon Michael Caine leads the tally with six, hot on his heels is Irish actor Cillian Murphy who is set to reunite with Christopher Nolan for his upcoming WWII drama Dunkirk.
The official release date has now been announced
According to The Wrap, Murphy will appear in the historical epic alongside an impressive array of supporting actors including the previously announced Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance and fellow Nolan regular, Tom Hardy.
For his lead roles, however, Nolan has decided to cast young newcomers who will be headed up by Fionn Whitehead.
The other young actors set to make their acting breakthroughs include Jack Lowden, Aneurin Barnard and One Direction singer Harry Styles.
War drama Dunkirk will tell a fictional story that occurred during Operation Dynamo - the British evacuation from the French harbour. Nolan will provide the screenplay and, as is his style, is opting to shoot on film. He will use real locations as well as a real-life war battleship that served for other 30 years in the French navy.
Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Ken Watanabe and Marion Cotillard are among the other actors the filmmaker has worked with a number of times.
There is no word on what Murphy's role will entail. The actor will next be seen in the third series of Peaky Blinders, all details on which you can find here.
Dunkirk will be released on 21 July 2017.
