Your support makes all the difference.British director Paul Greengrass is working on a big screen adaptation of George Orwell’s classic dystopian novel, Nineteen Eighty-Four.
The Oscar nominee has been confirmed for the project, but it is still in very early stages and actors have yet to be cast, Deadline reports.
Producer Scott Rubin, who Greengrass worked with on last year’s awards hit Captain Phillips, is also on board for the film.
Orwell’s famous story is set at a time when state surveillance is inescapable and ominously reflects modern day issues over phone hacking, drones, CCTV and privacy laws. The name and concept of Big Brother originates in the book.
Orwell’s book has been brought to cinemas before, in 1984 by Michael Radford, with John Hurt starring in the lead as Winston Smith.
Greengrass is set to work with Rudin again for Martin Luther King movie Memphis, but is currently busy on the fourth instalment of the hugely popular Bourne franchise, with Matt Damon rumoured to be returning as the titular hero.
Greengrass and Rudin may also be teaming up for Agent Storm, about the life of militant Islamist Morten Storm who became a double agent for the CIA.
