Parents rejoice! Frozen 2 isn't happening
At least not any time soon
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Frozen directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have denied rumours that a sequel is in the work, saying that doing the recent short film was gruelling enough.
No doubt to the delight of parents everywhere who've had to hear how MAGICAL AND SPECIAL Queen Elsa is and spend roughly the GDP of Canada on merchandise, it doesn't look like Frozen 2 is on the way, at least not anytime soon.
Idina Menzel previously suggested a sequel was 'in the works', but the directors seem keen to go out on a high.
"It's been in the press that we are doing [a sequel], and we would ask each other, 'Are we?'" Buck told BuzzFeed, denying the rumours. "They'd have a date and they'd have a cast and it was like, 'OK...'"
"Like with the short, it was so daunting until we found the story," Lee added. "Then it was all of the things it usually is and we were thinking of every emotion and moment and feeling. I think that's all we can do. Until we find our way into what's next, emotionally, it will feel too big.
"There is a bit of that drop-the-mic thing," Buck said. "Just go, [drops mic] 'I don’t know what else to do.'"
