Olivia Munn has claimed the The Predator cast are giving her the cold shoulder after she alerted 20th Century Fox to the casting of a registered sex offender in the franchise reboot.

Fox responded by cutting the one scene in which actor Steven Wilder Striegel appeared. Striegel, who is a longtime friend of director Shane Black, pleaded guilty in 2010 to attempting to entice a 14-year-old girl into a sexual relationship via the internet.

In a statement Fox said: "Our studio was not aware of Mr Striegel's background when he was hired. Several weeks ago, when the studio learned the details, his one scene in the film was removed within 24 hours."

Munn, who plays scientist Casey Bracket in the film, has continued to promote The Predator since she blew the whistle on Striegel, but says her fellow cast members, along with Black, are treating her "like I'm the one who went to jail" – with the exception of her 11-year-old co-star Jacob Tremblay.

"It's been a very lonely feeling to be sitting here by myself when I should be sitting here with the rest of the cast," she told the Hollywood Reporter. "I do feel like I've been treated by some people like I'm the one who went to jail or I'm the one that put this guy on set."

"The movie is a great movie, the scene isn't in there," she said. "It's going to do well. At the end of the day, it's just a movie. We can't tell stories about people and not care about people... there are people who get very mad at you for not just helping them bury it."

She added that while she appreciated the apology Black had released following the revelation, she would have appreciated it more if he had reached out to her privately.

"I had to see it online with everyone else," she said. "It's honestly disheartening to have to fight for something so hard that is just so obvious to me. I don't know why this has to be such a hard fight."

Following the interview, her co-star Sterling K Brown tweeted to say "thank you" to Fox for deleting the scene and also apologised to Munn "who was the only member of the principal cast who had to work with him [Striegel].

"I so appreciate that you 'didn't leave well enough alone' & again, I'm sorry you feel isolated in taking action," he said.
