Although Deadpool has broken box-office records, won over critics and (hopefully) changed the superhero genre for the better, Olivia Munn is still glad she turned down a role in the film.

In an interview with American Way Magazine, the actor revealed that Fox offered her a role in the Ryan Reynolds-led film: that of the Merc’s girlfriend.

However, Munn didn’t want to play “the girlfriend” again, instead, she wanted to fight. Sadly, there was no fight scene for Deadpool’s partner, and she turned down the role, instead choosing to become a superhero herself - Psylocke - in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.

“I thought Psylocke was always one of the most lethal characters, and I said, ‘Yes, as long as you’re not using her to be the eye candy,” Munn added. “She has really powerful abilities.’ And they said, ‘Yes, that’s an important part.’”

Meanwhile, in other X-Men news, a Taylor Swift cameo has been hinted at in the film, with Sophie Turner posting a photo of Dazzler to her Instagram.
