Netflix TV and films: Everything new coming in the month of February, from Altered Carbon and Mute to Derren Brown's The Push

Next month will see a whole host of fresh content to add to your list

Netflix has a busy month in store with the arrival of even more original TV shows, films and documentaries in February.

Spearheading the original series is Altered Carbon, a dystopian adaptation based on Richard K. Morgan’s cyberpunk noir novel set in a world where humans can theoretically live forever with their bodies (called “sleeves”) interchangeable and consciousness able to be stored digitally. The series follows a resurrected soldier (played by Joel Kinnaman) who must work out who murdered the person who brought him back to life.

Following on in the sci-fi stakes is Mute, the sequel-of-sorts to Moon from filmmaker Duncan Jones. Alexander Skarsgård, Paul Rudd and Justin Theroux, the film follows a mute bartender searching for the love of his life who has mysteriously disappeared in Berlin.

For those wanting something a little different, the streaming service is set to unveil Queer Eye, the revamp of hit series Queer Eye for the Straight Guy which promises “to make America fabulous again one makeover at a time.”

Fans of illusionist Derren Brown will be excited to see he's returning to screens next month with brand new special The Push after a successful Broadway stint in New York last year - the first of three episodes that will air over the course of the year.

Filmwise, the biggest to hit the streaming service next month include Alejandro G. Iñárritu's Oscar-winning The Revenant, 10 Cloverfield Lane and all three Monty Python films.
