MTV Movie and TV Awards: Avengers: Endgame and Game of Thrones lead 2019 nominations

Both titles have each earned four nominations

Avengers: Endgame, Game of Thrones and the Ruth Bader Ginsburg documentary RBG are leading nominations for this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards.

The three titles each earned four nominations for the awards show, MTV announced on Tuesday.

Endgame will compete for Best Movie against BlacKkKlansman, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Us and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. The Marvel blockbuster also earned nominations for stars Robert Downey Jr (Best Hero) and Josh Brolin (Best Villain).

The Oscar-nominated RBG, which focused on the life of the US Supreme Court justice, is nominated for Best Documentary, Most Meme-Able moment and Real-Life Hero. The latter two are new categories unveiled this year, along with Reality Royalty.

RBG will also face Endgame and HBO’s Game of Thrones for Best Fight.

Game of Thrones is up for Best Show, while Maisie Williams and Emilia Clarke have each scored nominations for Best Hero and Best Performance in a Show respectively.

Shazam! star Zachary Levi will host the show, which will be held in Santa Monica, California and air on 17 June.
