From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. There's been very little word on Darren Aronofsky's voraciously anticipated next project, Mother!.
Even the film's first teaser seems to reveal almost nothing from the Black Swan filmmaker's latest, which sees star Jennifer Lawrence floating silently through an empty house, despite the sounds of an increasingly tense confrontation playing over the footage.
Before the teaser suddenly goes full-on horror: a nightmarish flash through dying flies, burning fire, Michelle Pfeiffer looking sensuous and sinister, exploding light bulbs, and an agitated Javier Bardem.
The film also stars Ed Harris (possibly spotted romancing Pfeiffer in the teaser), Domhnall Gleeson, and Kristen Wiig.
However, the only inkling of the plot released so far simply states: "A couple's relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive their home, disrupting their tranquil existence".
There's a full trailer set to arrive next week, which will hopefully provide a few more concrete indications as to what exactly's going on here.
Mother! hits UK cinemas 15 September.
