Michael B Jordan has responded to being named People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive”.

Jordan was revealed as this year’s recipient on Tuesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! (17 November).

The Black Panther star arrived on set disguised in hazmat gear with Kimmel prompting a game of “Guess Who?”. Viewers then dialled in to ask the actor yes-or-no questions.

After one fan asked whether Jordan was an actor “known for comedy” – to which the 33-year-old answered, “No” – the same fan proceeded to guess: “Is it Michael B Jordan?”

The Creed star then proceeded to take off his hazmat protection gear to reveal himself as 2020’s “Sexiest Man Alive”.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of the magazine’s annual tribute to “sexy” male celebrities. Previous honorees include Adam Levine, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and David Beckham.

Last year, the coveted title went to singer John Legend, with Idris Elba being crowned the year prior.

Speaking to People about winning the award, Jordan joked that the women in his family “are definitely proud of this one”.

He said: “When my grandmother was alive, it was something that she collected, and then my mom naturally reads it a lot and my aunts as well.

"This is one that they're definitely going to have a special place for."

Earlier this year, Jordan also found himself on Time Magazine’s list of100 Most Influential People of 2020.
