According to sources, a beloved Marvel character will not only be introduced to the Cinematic Universe, but will join Thor, Scarlet Witch and company as an Avenger in Phase Five.
Ever since the Disney-Fox merger, fans have been wondering when X-Men and Fantastic Four characters would begin showing up, with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige confirming plans were underway while at Comic-Con last month.
We Got This Covered claims that Wolverine – who is a crucial part of the team in many of the comic book series’ key storylines – will be inducted into the Avengers after the X-Men’s initial introduction in a future film.
It’s unknown at this stage whether Hugh Jackman would reprise the role.
This could tie into recent claims that a surprise film is being prepped for May 2024. If so, this means an X-Men film – or even a fifth Avengers film that sees their introduction – could be arriving sooner than anticipated.
During an Empire Q&A, Feige detailed a scrapped Avengers: Endgame scene that would have been extremely traumatic for kids and also recently revealed which Avenger could have single-handedly taken down Thanos if he had no back up from his army.
Feige also revealed that Gwyneth Paltrow had no idea Samuel L Jackson was in the MCU – despite co-starring in five films with him.
