Life - Official Trailer

Your support helps us to tell the story

This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

The Independent is trusted by 27 million Americans from across the entire political spectrum every month. Unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock you out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. But quality journalism must still be paid for.

Help us keep bring these critical stories to light. Your support makes all the difference.

While still in the shadow of Gravity, and with Alien: Covenant on the horizon - why not combine both into one?

Life promises a more grounded, contemporary spin on the old extraterrestrial/ sci-fi genre, telling the story of a six-member crew of the International Space Station that uncovers what looks to be the first evidence of life on Mars.

As they begin to conduct routine research on the specimen, they soon discover it to be capable of far more than they could ever expect; and that it's intentions are far more murder-y than one would have hoped.

Cue yelling, chaos, and heroism from astronauts desperately attempting to make it back to Earth in one piece, without risking bringing back the specimen and potentially endangering the entire global population.

The film re-teams Ryan Reynolds alongside Safe House director Daniel Espinosa, with a screenplay straight from one of Deadpool's co-writers, Rhett Reese.

Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Ariyon Bakare, and Olga Dihovichnaya also star.

Life hits UK cinemas 26 May.
