This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

Hollywood icon Kirk Douglas has celebrated his 101st birthday - and his grandson paid tribute to him in the most wonderful way possible.

Dylan Douglas, son of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, posted an image of himself with his grandfather celebrating his birthday on Instagram, captioned with: "love you with all my heart Pappy."

It's not the only time Dylan has taken to social media to pay tribute to Kirk on his birthday. Last year, he posted a sweet, hilarious video of him dancing in celebration of becoming a centenarian.

Kirk Douglas, born in 1916, is one of the last living icons of Hollywood's Golden Age. Coming out of an impoverished childhood, Douglas went on to become a box-office sensation throughout the '50s and '60s, most notably for his titular role in Spartacus.

The actor has received three Academy Award nominations, an Oscar for Lifetime Achievement, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He's also a noted philanthropist, often donating to schools and medical facilities.
