Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is collecting Oscar-winners like they're Pokémon cards.

The sequel already has the talents of Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, and Elton John; alongside the returning Colin Firth, in the role of a (presumably) resurrected Harry Hart. They're also joined by Channing Tatum, who has yet to receive an Oscar; but, hey, it's early days yet.

It's now been revealed Jeff Bridges will also be climbing aboard, having won his own Oscar back in 2010 for the country music drama Crazy Heart. And, just like many of its other cast members, the actor announced his involvement through Twitter, posting an image reading; "The only golden circle I want vexing me is the one my glass leaves behind on the table."

The spy spoof follow-up to 2014's Kingsman: The Secret Service will see Taron Egerton’s Eggsy head state-side with Mark Strong’s Merlin to work for secret US spy society Statesmen. Statesmen HQ is disguised as a whisky distillery and once there, Eggsy and Merlin will be tasked with defeating the villainous Poppy, Moore.

You can read everything we know so far on the movie here.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is set to reach UK cinemas on 16 June 2017.
