Your support makes all the difference. The Matrix fans are coming up with some wild theories following the recent videos of Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne Moss filming on set.
Earlier this week, the world’s first glimpse at the pair in character as Neo and Trinity since 2003’s The Matrix Revolutions surfaced on the internet, showing a completely different look for Reeves’ character.
The clip showed the actors being followed by cameras while riding a motorcycle, as director Lana Wachowski watched on, in San Francisco.
Reeves can be seen sporting a long black jacket as well as a much longer hairdo for neo, which has led to people theorising that this may be because Reeves is not playing Neo in the fourth Matrix film, but John Wick.
What’s more is that some people now think that John Wick has actually been Neo the entire time, trapped in a Matrix-style simulation.
Kerick Howlett on Twitter highlights the fact that both John Wick’s fighting skills could be due to Neo having them uploaded into his brain in the first ever Matrix film, which was released in 1999.
He also points out that Morpheus actor Laurence Fishburne’s presence in John Wick could have a larger meaning.
The theory also states that John Wick begins with the hitman “grieving over the death of his one true love”, which could actually be Trinity (Moss), who dies in The Matrix Revolutions.
It’s unknown how the character returns in the fourth Matrix film, which will also star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathan Groff and Jada Pinkett Smith, who will reprise the role of Niobe.

Last year, it was revealed that the fourth instalments of both The Matrix and John Wick will be released on the very same day in May 2021.
Could the two actually be a crossover? It would certainly be a high-concept gamble that action movie fans would lap up, especially if the two serve as two parts of one story.
“What if we find out that John Wick is a simulation that’s happening inside The Matrix and the reason why The Matrix 4 and John Wick 4 are releasing on the same day is because they’re about to drop this bomb on us?” another tweeter asked, adding: “That’d be wild, huh?”
While that would be exciting, it remains unlikely – although one look at Reeves as Neo on set does suddenly make us think it could be a possibility.
