From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

If you thought Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman was jam packed with superheroes, just wait until you see the upcoming Justice League.

First, the film is set to introduce Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, Ezra Miller’s The Flash (to a certain extent), J. K. Simmons’s James Gordon, Willem Dafoe’s Nuidis Vulko, and Julian Lewis Jones’s unnamed character.

That's already a long list, but remember, the film also sees the return of Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Amy Adams’s Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons’s Alfred, and Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor. Oh, and Snyder needs to resurrect Henry Cavil’s Superman.

Along with all these characters, Amber Heard’s Mera will also debut in the film, Snyder having now given us a first look at the Queen of Atlantis and wife of Aquaman. The costume certainly fits the comic-book aesthetic, a shame about the ridiculously dark filter.

Recently, a behind-the-scenes clip from Justice League was released, showcasing the film’s lighter tone in comparison to Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad.

Meanwhile, in other DC news, Ben Affleck has revealed the title of his solo-Batman film, The Batman, saying: “The movie I think is going to be called The Batman. At least that’s what we’re going with right now. I might change it… That’s about all I got right now. We’re working on the script, the script is going well, I’m really excited about it.”
