The son of Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp is reportedly suffering from “serious health problems.”

French musician and actor Paradis was expected to attend the Paris premiere of new film A Knife in the Heart on Tuesday (26 June) but is said to have stayed at home to be with their 16-year-old son, Jack (real name John Christopher Depp III).

“Unfortunately, Vanessa Paradis was not able to join us tonight - she had to be absent because of her son’s serious health problems,” French outlet Public reports the film's director, Yann Gonzalez, to have said at the red carpet event.

Representatives for Paradis and Depp did not immediately respond for comment.

Alongside 19-year-old daughter Lily-Rose, Jack is one of two children the couple had while dating between the years of 1998 and 2012.

Lily-Rose - an actor in her own right - was hospitalised at the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London due to a serious escherichia coli infection in 2007 which resulted in temporary kidney failure. Following her recovery, Depp visited the hospital dressed in his Captain Jack Sparrow outfit.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star - whose role in Fantastic Beasts 2 came under fire - is currently touring around Europe with his band The Hollywood Vampires.
