From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

With John Wick currently on the run from every working assassin in the world, fans are feverishly excited for the sequel.

Filming has begun on the upcoming sequel, with cinematographer Dan Laustsen for posting a photo of Keanu Reeves as the titular character.

From the looks of things, Wick has made his way to the neon-lit streets of New York’s Chinatown where potential threats are likely around every corner.

Laustsen – who was recently nominated for an Oscar for The Shape of Water – confirmed production on John Wick: Chapter 3 began over the weekend, posting a photo of the movie’s clapperboard.

Speaking last year with The Independent, director Chad Stahelski hinting the upcoming sequel may be John Wick’s final outing.

“We are going to put in something about the High Table, how that all works,” he said. “We’re going to put in something about where John comes from, and where he wants to go. I don’t want to say too much more, but it will be a nice completion to Mr Wick’s journey.”

Asked whether the film would complete a trilogy, Stahelski said “In our minds, yes” adding that a TV show – which has now been confirmed to centre on The Continental – is also in development.

John Wick: Chapter 3 reaches cinemas 17 May 2019.
