From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Jennifer Coolidge has revealed that she once posed as a twin in order to date two different men at the same time.

The American Pie star appeared on a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show and reminisced about her time in Hawaii, where she has been filming a new project.

“I’ve had all sorts of crazy experiences here,” she said, prompting Clarkson to ask her to elaborate.

“When you’re on vacation alone, you can kind of create anything you want,” Coolidge explained.

“I met these two guys and I liked them both, so I told them I had an identical twin, and I dated both guys… for two weeks.”

Her revelation sent Clarkson into hysterics, despite the singer commenting that it sounded “exhausting”.

“I don’t know if I would have the guts to do that now, but at the time, it was sort of a great decision because when you're younger, you can get away with anything,” Coolidge said.

While arguably best known for her performances as Jeanine Stifler in the American Pie series, Coolidge has also starred in films such as Like a Boss, Best in Show and Promising Young Woman with Carey Mulligan.

On TV, she had cameos in Friends, Glee, 2 Broke Girls and Sex and the City.

In 2018, she reprised another of her famous roles, as Paulette Bonafonte from Legally Blonde, for Ariana Grande’s music video for “Thank u, next”.
