It was reported earlier this week that Disney is planning on rebooting the franchise, which began in 1990 with the first Home Alone film.
“This is what an updated Home Alone would actually look like,” Culkin, now 38, tweeted, along with a photo of himself posing as a contemporary Kevin.
While in the original, Kevin originally uses his newfound freedom to eat ice cream (among other snacks) in front of the TV, this modern version is digging into some sort of pasta dish with a laptop on his lap.
He’s surrounded with more Tupperware boxes of food, as well as a video game controller, a stack of papers and a couple of remotes.
There is also an upside-down pillow with a snowman on it – presumably acting as a casual tribute to the original film’s Christmas spirit.
“Hey @Disney, call me!” Culkin added.
According to Deadline, Bob Iger, the chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, announced on Tuesday that Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, would reboot four franchises, including Home Alone.
The other three are Diaries of a Wimpy Kid, Night At the Museum, and Cheaper By the Dozen.
