From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. WWE wrestler Roman Reigns has joined the cast of Hobbs & Shaw.

The film serves as a spin-off of the Fast & Furious franchise, centered around Dwayne Johnson‘s Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw, as they team up to take down a villain named Bristol, played by Idris Elba.

Johnson posted to Instagram that Reigns, whose actual name is Joe Anoa "will play the brother of Hobbs in the film".

Reigns, who also happens to be Johnson’s own cousin, went on hiatus from the ring last year, entering treatment for leukemia.

“I’m very proud of his focus, effort and authentic performance in our movie for his very first time on film,” Johnson wrote. I’m also very grateful to spend this quality time with my cousin here in the islands as he takes life one day at a time to recover from leukemia.”

“His perseverance and humility battling this challenge has inspired our entire family as well as millions around the world in our beloved @WWE Universe. Can’t wait to see the ‘Big Dog’ return back to the ring – his positive & focused mindset to return is straight up next level.”

Deadpool 2‘s David Leitch will direct, with a script by franchise writer Chris Morgan.

Hobbs & Shaw will be released in UK cinemas on 26 July.
