He was dining in Scottsdale, Arizona on Tuesday evening when a man identified as "Steve" walked up to him as he was leaving and slapped him twice.
The incident happened at the Elements restaurant at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort, and saw Steve lightly hit Weinstein with the back of his hand as the producer walked past him. passed by him.
Original reports stated that Weinstein had been punched in the face.
After the incident occurred, video was at one point being shopped around for $100,000, but the encounter was less impactful than originally reported.
Weinstein was guided out of the restaurant by his sober coach who used his hands to prevent anyone from capturing anything on film.
At one point the sober coach even tries to grab the camera out of someone's hands.
While it may be assumed that the attack was related to the numerous sexual assault allegations against him, the manager claims Steve was mad with Weinstein after he didn't want to have his photo taken.
Weinstein has been accused of sexual harassment and assault more than 82 women, including Hollywood actresses Rose McGowan, Asia Argento, Ashley Judd, Salma Hayek and more.
There is no word on whether or not Weinstein filed a police report.
