Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry was rushed to hospital last night after being injured while filming her latest movie.

The Monster’s Ball star is understood to have hit her head on concrete after falling while shooting The Hive in Los Angeles.

Reports have emerged that Berry, 45, was taken to the Cedars-Sinai Hospital at around 10pm last night.

Her publicist Meredith O'Sullivan told Associated Press confirmed that the actress had suffered "a minor head injury" and has since been released from hospital.

Unnamed sources quoted in The Sun newspaper said Berry either fell or was hit by a falling object.

She is believed to have been between filming when the accident occurred. The movie set was shut down immediately after she was taken to hospital.

O'Sullivan has confirmed that Berry will continue to work on The Hive.

In the film Berry plays a worker in a 911 call centre who must confront a killer from her past in order to save a little girl’s life.

The Brad Anderson directed thriller also stars Little Miss Sunshine actress Abigail Breslin.

This is not the first time Berry has been injured on set. She broke her foot while filming the adaptation of David Mitchell’s novel Cloud Atlas last year.

Another Hollywood actress was injured while filming earlier this month. Kristin Chenoweth was treated for minor injuries after being hit by a piece of lighting equipment on set of The Good Wife.
