From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Whereas the first film sees Star Lord express his admiration for Kevin Bacon, the second featured numerous jokes about David Hasselhoff, the former Baywatch star evening having a cameo.
For the home release of Vol. 2, Hasselhoff — along with multiple stars from the film — appear in a music video for “Guardians' Inferno”.
So, who’s in the video? Well, there’s Dave Bautista (Drax), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Michael Rooker (Yondu), Stan Lee, Chris Pratt (star Lord), James Gunn (director) and Guillermo, of The Jimmy Kimmel show.
Speaking about Vol. 3 recently, James Gunn said the upcoming Phase 4 film will mark the end of the current Guardians line-up, reflecting earlier comments he made that the film will "conclude the story of this iteration of the Guardians”.
Vol. 2 is available on DVD and 4K Blu-ray 8 August.
