The actor is offering an exclusive set visit to the upcoming Marvel sequel, all in the aid of charity
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Chris Pratt just raised the bar of dedication to charitable causes. He, the kind and selfless soul that he is, will let you punch him in the face if it means you'll donate money to help kids out.
At least, that's one of his offers in Omaze's latest charitable campaign; which sees Pratt tease a competition for an exclusive tour of the set of Marvel's upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and lunch with Star-Lord himself.
Even for those unlucky non-winners, the promo for the cause does give us some very brief glimpses of the working set; though it's largely just Pratt goofing around in front of a green screen, raising his already rocketing levels of reliability by declaring puppies one of the world's great wonders.
It's all in aid of Lake Stevens Boys and Girls Club; located in Pratt's own hometown of Lake Stevens, WA. Donations will go in aid of building a welcoming place for teenagers to go after school to find support from positive role models willing to help with homework, resumes, or job interviews.
And, hey, if you win; maybe you'll be able to tease out that promised reveal of who Peter Quill's father is. As apparently, the man is not particularly aware of what a spoiler is.
Marvel's highly-anticipated sequel sees director James Gunn returning with original crew Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Glenn Close, and Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket. New cast members include Kurt Russell, Elizabeth Debicki, The Knick's Chris Sullivan, Pom Klementieff, and Sons of Anarchy's Tommy Flanagan; with Sylvester Stallone rumoured to be involved after he was spotted on set.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits UK cinemas 28 April 2017.
