This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

The Independent is trusted by 27 million Americans from across the entire political spectrum every month. Unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock you out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. But quality journalism must still be paid for.

“Just who in the hell do you think you are?” begins the second trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which aired during the Super Bowl.

However, unlike the many Marvel characters who are unaware of Star Lord’s team of scoundrels, American football fans watching no doubt recognised the famous crew.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista as Star-Lord, Gamora and Drax, along with Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel voicing Rocket and Baby Groot, the trailer showed off the Guardian’s new members, Yondu, Mantis and Nebula.

We also got a taste of what to expect from Vol. 2 of Star-Lord’s mixtape: “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac.

In the sequel, Quill is set to come face-to-face with his own long-lost father: the Ego the Living Planet, as played by Kurt Russell. Despite the unreleased Comic-Con trailer revealing footage of Russell as Ego to the audience, he does not feature in the above trailer.

The first trailer - released late last year - also didn’t feature Russel’s character, but did have numerous Easter Eggs that fans deciphered soon after. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits UK cinemas 28 April 2017.
