Your support makes all the difference. Before embarking on the promotional tour Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, James Gunn announced a third instalment in the series having anticipated questions about a sequel.
With the film finally reaching UK cinemas, fans have been wondering where Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot will venture next, something the director remains coy about.
However, talking to The Independent, Gunn hinted at a possible spin-off featuring various new characters glimpsed at in Vol. 2.
"I would love to see those characters reappear in the future," he said. "Where exactly they will be, whether it is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 or their own movie, or someone else's movie, we’ll have to wait and see.
"I think I have most of the answers now but we’ll have to completely figure it out in a little bit."
So, which characters is Gunn talking about? For those who haven't seen Vol. 2, turn around now as there are some major spoilers ahead. Read our review instead.
Still here? Seriously, go watch the damn film. Oh, you have? Ok. Remember Sylvester Stallone's character Stakar? In the comics, the character is better know as Starhawk and was once a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, alongside Yondu.
During one of the five post-credit scenes, we see Stallone meet with various other ex-members of the Guardians — including Michelle Yeoh's Aleta, Ving Rhames's Charlie-27, and Mainframe, who is voiced by Miley Cyrus — meet to commemorate their fallen ally.
This 'new' team is who Gunn is referring too, having been asked when we can expect Stallone's team to next appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
