Ghostbusters new trailer: Slimer cameos in clip of Paul Feig's reboot
Chris Hemsworth’s new character also plays a more central role in the clip
Ever since the first Ghostbusters trailer became the most disliked trailer of all time on YouTube, Sony has understandably been trying to get fans back on side.
With the film's second trailer, the studio has revealed numerous new characters, showing off more ghosts and ghouls who will appear in the film.
Notably, Slimer makes an appearance, as well as the film’s new villain (the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man lookalike at the end of the clip).
Chris Hemsworth’s new character plays a more central role, his body being taken over by one the ghosts mid-way through.
The clip trailer also makes clear the film is a Ghostbusters reboot rather than a continuation of the series - at one point, a TV anchor asks the world whether they should take the team seriously.
The new Ghostbusters team consist of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones while the film is directed by Paul Feig.
In recent Ghostbusters news, the marketing team behind the film has come under criticism for aiming the film’s tie-in toys at boys, even though the film features an all-female team. McCarthy also admitted in an interview that the first trailer was ‘very confusing’.
