The English actress will take a lead role in the apocalyptic movie, about humans who turn into unstoppable, violent predators when infected with an aggressive form of rabies.
One man has “the unique ability to speak with the undead” and, as such, sets out on a mission to find the cure and save his zombified wife.
It remains unknown which character Dormer will play, but reports suggest she could be starring as the wife.
Mike Le has penned the script and Vincent Newman will produce. Other cast members are yet to be announced.
Dormer is best known for playing Margaery Tyrell in hit fantasy TV series, Game of Thrones. Her character enjoyed a brief stint as queen before King Joffrey was poisoned at the 'Purple Wedding'.
Dormer's previous films include Captain America: The First Avenger, Rush and The Riot Club.
She will shortly be seen playing Cressida in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 alongside Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson.
