This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

With filming now fully underway on Game of Thrones season 7 the spoilers are coming in thick and fast, and there’s a particularly juicy one this morning squeezed from the Spain shoot, so stop reading now if you want to wait until next summer.

With Daenerys Targaryen finally set to reach Westeros in season 7, she’s likely to encounter many key characters for the first time, starting with Brienne of Tarth and Davos Seaworth.

Her scene with the pair, which presumably saw her joined by aides Missandei and Tyrion Lannister, was shot in Italica, according to Watchers on the Wall, which is believed to be serving as the Dragonpit.

For non-book readers, the Dragonpit is pretty much how it sounds and located in a very old building near King’s Landing.

Daenerys and Brienne are two of the Seven Kingdoms’ most formidable women and would surely prove a powerful alliance. Brienne and Davos have also been spotted with Jon Snow, so this meeting could tie into a potential Starkgaryen alliance.

Over at the Northern Ireland filming base, a big Stark reunion looks to be on the cards.

Game of Thrones' seventh season will be shorter than usual, consisting of just seven episodes, and will arrive on HBO and Sky Atlantic in summer 2017.
