Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. It's been 13 years for us but only six months for the characters we first met in 2003's Finding Nemo, the majority of whom are returning for a new story that sees forgetful fish Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) search for her long-lost family.
Returning for the eventful ocean odyssey are friends Marlin (Albert Brooks), Nemo (now voiced by Hayden Rolence who replaces Alexander Gould) and Willem Dafoe's Gil. Even Mr Ray's (Bob Peterson) back for the ride.
Of course, this being a Disney/Pixar film, there'll be a fresh heap of new characters which include beluga whale Bailey, octopus Hank (voiced by Modern Family's Ty Burrell and Ed O'Neill, respectively) and unknown roles for Idris Elba and Dominic West.
The sequel will be directed by the original's Andrew Stanton (WALL•E) alongside Angus MacLane who graduates from Pixar short director to feature co-director.
Finding Dory will be released in the UK on 29 July and is the first of a roster of sequels due to come out in the coming years; these include Cars 3 (2017), Toy Story 4 (2018) and The Incredibles 2 (2019).
The studio's 2015 feature Inside/Out took home the Best Animated Feature award at this year's Oscars.
