Fifty Shades of Grey named most-watched trailer of 2014 ahead of Star Wars: The Force Awakens

A sneak peek at Jamie Dornan’s steamy turn in Fifty Shades of Grey proved impossible to resist for YouTube viewers, with the trailer named most-watched of 2014.
More than 93 million people have checked out the first teaser for the movie, based on EL James’ bestselling erotic novels, since it dropped online in July.
Starring Dakota Johnson as a student infatuated by a BDSM-loving billionaire, the film hits UK cinemas just in time for Valentine’s Day next year.
It had the best early start with 81 million YouTube hits as sci-fi fans tuned in to see the Millennium Falcon back in action.
Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer came third with 78 million views since mid-October, while Jurassic World and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles completed the top five with 64 million and 58 million views respectively.
Other movies in the top ten were Furious 7, Minions, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Dumb and Dumber To and Interstellar, with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, Transformers: Age of Extinction and The Fault in Our Stars appearing further down the list.
The most-represented studio in the top ten most-watched trailer list was Universal, with five films making the cut. Paramount came second with three, Disney had two and Warner Bros, one.
