Your support makes all the difference.Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel has announced that Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren will reprise their roles in the ninth film of the franchise.
Oscar winners Theron and Mirren will be joining the previously announced cast of Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, and John Cena.
Theron will be back to play cyberterrorist Cypher, while Mirren will return as Magdalene Shaw, the mother of Statham’s character Deckard.
Diesel announced the news in an Instagram post on Monday.
Both Theron and Mirren’s characters were introduced in the 2017 film Fate of the Furious, which is the most recent film in the franchise and grossed $1.2bn worldwide.
Mirren is also starring in the franchise’s first spin-off movie, Fast & Furious presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
Fast & Furious 9 is scheduled for release on 22 May 2020.
