Fast 8: Vin Diesel reveals entirely unsurprising title for Fast & Furious 7 sequel along with release date
Last film was the third highest-grossing in box office history

Having given up on adding tag lines like ‘Axels of Fury’ and ‘Wheels of Mercy’ and ‘Vengeance dashboard’ years ago, the Fast & Furious franchise is sticking with hypocrisms for the title of its next film.
Appearing at the Teen Choice Awards at the weekend, Vin Diesel announced “Fast 8” for 14 April 2017.
With the last film going by the name ‘Furious 7’ in the US, this leaves Universal with the terrifying prospect of having to find words outside of ‘fast’ and ‘furious’ for the inevitable ninth film.

Dwayne “periodically The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham will return for Fast 8, while Eva Mendes is rumoured to be back too.
Fast & Furious 7 was named Choice Action/Adventure movie at the TCAs last night, with Diesel dedicating the award to fallen co-star Paul Walker.
“I can't stand here and be rewarded like this without talking about somebody very, very, very important to us,” he said. “One of the best blessings in our lives is the fact that we had the opportunity to call Pablo our brother. Paul Walker is here in spirit with us.
"I love all of you. I love all of you, and until Fast 8…” he added.
Furious 7 is the third highest-grossing film of all time behind Avatar and Titanic, taking $1.5 billion wordlwide.
