From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Next year will mark ten years since the release of live-action Disney film Enchanted and it seems, to celebrate such a landmark, the planned sequel has landed a director.

It's currently unconfirmed whether Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey will return for the follow-up which is currently moving ahead under the working title Disenchanted - but Adam Shankman (Hairspray) will oversee proceedings.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the sequel will be set ten years later with Giselle (Adams) questioning whether Robert (Dempsey) really is the man of her dreams.

The original Enchanted, which also stars Westworld actor James Marsden, Susan Sarandon and Idina Menzel, was a box office hit grossing £275 million worldwide.

Adams will next be seen in Denis Villeneuve drama Arrival and Tom Ford's Nocturnal Animals, while Dempsey most recently starred in Bridget Jones's Baby.

Patrick Dempsey admits he would do TV again

Disenchanted is expected to begin shooting next summer with a release date of 2018.
