Of course, it doesn't take long for everything to go a little meta

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The latest preview introduces the metal-armed brute himself, Josh Brolin's Cable. Admittedly, we don't know much about his role in Deadpool 2 so far, but the character in the comics is a long-running member of the X-Force team and frequent ally of the Merc with a Mouth.
In fact, we don't know much about anything when it comes to Deadpool 2, with the film's marketing campaign fully getting away with the charade thanks to its continuing meta-brilliance.
This time around, we have Deadpool interrupt what appears to be unfinished, pre-VFX footage in order to have a go at doing it all himself: inevitably that means drawing on Toy Story and making a couple of action figures fight.
If you want anything more of the story, however, you'll have to rely on this synopsis: "After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfil his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste."
"Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavour – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover."
The rest of the footage also shows Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand back as Vanessa, Weasel, Blind Al, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, respectively. There are also brief glimmers of Zazie Beetz as Domino and Julian Dennison as a resentful mutant.
