This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

Michael B Jordan took quite a beating while filming the Rocky spin-off Creed.

According to a podcast with US personality Bill Simmons, he couldn’t film the punches without actually taking the hit as, in slow motion, you could see the space between the fist and the person.

“The first couple of times we tried to do (the punches), we tried to do it with the slips, and it’s slow motion, so you can see the misses — the space between the punches,” the Fantastic Four actor said.

“All of a sudden, you just hear this snickering from the corner, and everybody’s like, ‘What?’

"Sly goes, ‘Man you’ve got to take it.’ I said, ‘What do you mean?’ He said, ‘No, you’ve got to take a real punch.’”

Legally, Jordan couldn’t be asked to take a punch, yet he willingly went for it, adding there may have been “peer pressure” but concluding “the hit is pretty epic.”

Sylvester Stallone has now released a video of the 28-year-old taking a fist to the face, apparently KO’ing him for real.

Stallone wrote on Twitter alongside the short clip: “Michael B Jordon, young creed and getting KO'd for real! But he got up and did it again! That's called guts!!” Watch below.

It hasn’t been confirmed if the hit is real - it doesn’t exactly look like the hardest punch ever - but the crack as glove meets face is pretty horrible.

Creed is released 15 January in the UK, and is already out in the US.
