Costume drama: Want to be a star? An auction of film props will let you look the part
It might be the closest you'll ever get to the Oscars, but with your own piece of Hollywood ephemera you can at least create a stir at this year's Halloween party. Film fans should head to Westfield shopping centre in east London, where an auction of movie props on Thursday includes such treasures as a batsuit from the 1989 Batman film. That's predicted to reach £15,000, however; and you can expect to pay around the same price even for milder memorabilia, such as a Golden Ticket from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
The Los Angeles-based movie collectibles shop Prop Store, is teaming up with cinema chain Vue for the sale. Tim Richards, chief executive of Vue Entertainment International, said: "It's the first time an auction of this scale has been held in a cinema, so it should make for an entertaining evening."
