At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The filmmaker posted a picture of Israeli actress Gal Gadot as the superhero on Twitter to his 196,000 followers while at San Diego Comic-Con yesterday.
The image shows a leather-clad Gadot in thigh high boots brandishing a sword in the midst of a volcano spewing ash.
The new costume is a departure from the recognisable red, blue, white and gold outfit that Wonder Woman is known for.
The new image looks more like it could be a still from Snyder's Spartan film 300 than an image of Wonder Woman.
Just like the Man of Steel and The Dark Knight trilogy, the new film gives a darker take on the DC Comics superheroes, moving away from the previously more flamboyant comic book and film depictions of the characters.
This is Gadot’s biggest role to date, the star is best known for playing Gisele Harabo in The Fast and the Furious films.
A brief teaser trailer from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was also shown at convention, giving the smallest of snippets to fans. In the short tease, Batman can be seen in a rainy Gotham turning on the Bat-Signal only to have Superman, with glowing red eyes, flying in the air blocking the light. It ends with both superheroes glaring menacingly at one another.
The film serves as a sequel to 2013’s Man of Steel and sees Ben Affleck as the caped crusader while Henry Cavill is reprising his role as Superman.

The film has a stellar cast, which includes American Hustle actress Amy Adams who will be playing Lois Lane, while The Social Network’s Jesse Eisenberg will be portraying the super villain Lex Luthor.
Jeremy Irons will be playing Bruce Wayne’s faithful butler Alfred and Laurence Fishburne will star as Perry White, the Editor of the Daily Planet.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to be released in 2016.
