Chris Evans has declared that he wants to appear in the forthcoming Star Wars movie produced by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

On Twitter, the Captain America actor replied to a Collider tweet reporting on the Feige news that asked: “Which MCU actor would you like to see pop up in a Star Wars movie?”

“Me”, Evans succinctly wrote in response.

It was announced this week that Feige would be developing a new Star Wars movie, after meeting with Disney executives and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in late summer. He is said to have always been a huge fan of the franchise.

The Hollywood Reporter also claimed that Feige has already told at least one “major actor” that there’s “a specific role” he would like them to appear in it – leading to fans speculating about who may be in Feige’s sights.

In a statement on the Feige news, Disney Studios co-chairman Alan Horn said: “Kathleen Kennedy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.”

Feige has been in charge of Marvel Studios since 2007, where he has been credited for shaping the Marvel Universe of movies.

Evans next appears in the comic whodunnit Knives Out alongside Daniel Craig, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lakeith Stanfield, which happens to be directed by Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson.

It will be released 29 November.
