Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Having released Adulthood seven years ago, Noel Clark's trilogy - which began with Kidulthood in 2006 - is almost complete.

Brotherhood is being released a whole ten years after Kidulthood and will pick up ten years after the dramatic events of 2008 film Adulthood.

Sam Peel (Clarke) - now grown up in a stable relationship with his lawyer girlfriend Kayla (Shanika Warren-Markland) - is seeking an existence away from his troubled background. However, the film will see enemies made in the previous films resurface to threaten everything he's come to care about.

The film stars Clarke alongside Jason Maza, Arnold Oceng and Red Madrell. MOBO award-winner Stormzy will also make his acting debut in the film.

Clarke's film credits include Storage 24, Star Trek Into Darkness and Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll. The multi-talented Brit was awarded the BAFTA Rising Star award in 2016.

Brotherhood will be released in the UK on 29 August.
