Britt Ekland, the actor who played Mary Goodnight opposite Roger Moore in The Man with the Golden Gun, has revealed she isn’t a fan of a reported and major plot twist in No Time to Die.

The former Bond girl was responding to an apparent leak of casting calls from the set of the forthcoming movie, starring Daniel Craig.

The documents reportedly suggest James Bond will have a daughter in the new film.

One sheet notes that this particular scene involves an agent named Nomi – played by Lashana Lynch – as well Bond’s daughter, Mathilde.

“Nomi pilots Madeleine and Mathilde to safety with the island in the background,” one line reads.

Erkland, however, said she wasn’t keen on the rumour and would prefer Bond remained more of a “fantasy”.

“I think that Bond should probably be a little bit more untouchable,” the Swedish actor said when questioned about the concept of Bond as a father. “He’s a fantasy.”

She added: “The Bond man, every big do I go to, everyone wants to be Bond.”

Asked if she felt the fantasy of Bond would be “ruined” by him having a child, she responded: “I think so. I, personally, think so.”

“But Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G Wilson, No Time to Die’s producers], they know better than me,” she added.

No Time to Die also stars Rami Malek, Ana de Armas, Ralph Fiennes, Rory Kinnear, Ben Whishaw and Jeffrey Wright. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, it will now be released on 12 November 2020.
