She is best known for wearing very little in the video for Robin Thicke's number one hit "Blurred Lines", but now Emily Ratajkowski is set for the big screen.

The London-born model and actress has been cast in the upcoming film adaptation of Gillian Flynn's best-selling thriller novel Gone Girl, alongside Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.

Ratajkowski will play Andie, the college student who is having an affair with Affleck’s character Nick Dunne.

It will be her first major film role, having previously made minor appearances in TV series New Girl and 2005 film A Year and a Day.

David Fincher, whose films include The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Fight Club, will be directing the adaptation.

Rosumund Pike stars as Amy Dunne, who goes missing on the couple’s fifth wedding anniversary.

Tyler Perry will play Nick’s lawyer Tanner Bolt, while Neil Patrick Harris has been cast as Amy's ex-boyfriend Desi Collins.

Reese Witherspoon, who had been rumoured to star as Amy, is producing the film alongside Bruna Papandrea and Leslie Dixon.

Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn, who was longlisted for this year’s Women’s Prize for Fiction, has written the screenplay for the film which is due to start filming in September.

A release date is yet to be set.
