Your support makes all the difference.In 1997, DC released the Godawful Batman & Robin, quickly making a name for itself as one of the worst films of all time, seemingly putting an end to the comic book adaptation.
However, while X-Men may have brought back the superhero team, it was Blade that got Hollywood back on side with superheroes. The 1998 vampire film was a huge financial success, leading to two sequels, the last of which was released in 2004.
Since then, Wesley Snipes has often spoken fondly of the series, telling reporters numerous times he would like to return to Blade. In July last year, the actor said he had a “really productive and a wonderful meeting [with Marvel] and we discussed a number of things.”
Once again, the actor has spoken out about returning to the series, this time using Twitter to voice his want for another film. “When it comes to another Blade, there's always a possibility,” he wrote in one message, followed by “Balls in Marvels court…”
Many fans have been hoping the vampire slayer will appear alongside Daredevil and Jessica Jones in a Netflix series. There’s also the possibility he could star in another solo film, this time in the same universe as the likes of Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Panther.
Whatever Marvel do, let’s hope they can make Snipes happy and return him to the iconic role soon - even if it has to be a follow-up to the rubbish Trinity.
