As it stands, it remains unknown who exactly is playing Taskmaster in the prequel film, which stars Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh and David Harbour; the studio has kept that secret extremely tight-lipped.
Fans have been speculating for some time whether some of the film’s other stars, including Rachel Weisz and The Handmaid’s Tale actor OT Fagbenle, could be under the mask.
It seems some of them have been right – months after seemingly confirming themselves as Taskmaster, Fagbenle appeared to do precisely this once again during an Instagram Live.
While speaking about how he got the part of Mason in the film, he said: “There’s a whole conspiracy theory that I’m Taskmaster.”
His interviewer, Bresha Webb, replied: “You probably are”, which saw Fagbenle state: “You’re trying to get it out as well? I thought we spoke about this. I thought we were going to keep some s*** on the DL.”
In March, the actor – who plays Luke Osborne in The Handmaid’s Tale – shared a post about Black Widow with the hashtag of his character’s name Mason as well as TM, which hinted he was also Taskmaster.
Black Widow will now be released in November in the date that was originally reserved for The Eternals. Find a full list of updated release dates here and a ranking of the Avengers characters – from worst to best – here.
